I love to be involved in teaching my knowledge of Indian folk art and culture
to audiences of all ages. I work with children in many settings:
in schools, at local art festivals, and in cultural celebrations.
I customize residencies to the students' needs, emphasizing different
aspects of the creative process.
Through discussions, demonstrations, and
hands-on creations, I take students through the the creative process. I start with the development of ideas from
different sources-their own cultural histories, life experiences, and the
world around them, and guide them in using different media and techniques
appropriate to their level to make their visions into reality.
I have completed successful residencies at Gatewood Elementary School,
Museum Magnet School, St. Paul History Center, Brooklyn Park Heritage
Center, and many others. I am listed in the Minnesota
Folk Artists Directory, and am a Roster Artist for the Young
Audiences of Minnesota. You can see in-depth examples of some of my recent residencies
at various schools below.
