Ways of Life: Rooted in Tradition

The artwork has been delivered, and my solo exhibition, Ways of Life: Rooted in Tradition, is now coming together at White Bear Center for the Arts. I am excited to finally see this year-long journey come to life.

This exhibition grew from my research and creative exploration of Indian folk and tribal art traditions. I have been inspired by traditions including Gond, Warli, Madhubani, Mandana, Kalamkari, Pichwai, Phad, Lippan, and Kolam.

As I explored these traditions, I became especially interested in how closely they are connected to everyday life—nature, community, celebrations, spirituality, and our relationship with the world around us. I have taken inspiration from these traditional forms and symbols and interpreted them through my own artistic language, using painting and mixed media.

For me, this exhibition is not only about looking back at traditions. It is also about keeping them alive by learning from them, reinterpreting them, and sharing them with others.

Seeing all the completed artwork together is a very special moment for me. I am grateful for the many people who have encouraged and supported me throughout this journey.
